While the Alliance has been using NVIDIA GPUs almost exclusively in the last few years, we do have a small test installation of AMD GPU and APU accelerators and may acquire more in the future. This seminar will focus on the AMD MI300As available on the Nibi cluster, which are APUs combining GPU and CPU components with unified memory. The seminar will also discuss the software packages for AMD accelerators (in particular AMD's ROCm/HIP stack as the analog to NVIDIA's CUDA) and how these can be installed on Alliance clusters.
