The Singularity open source project to support securely using containers on clusters has been renamed to be called Apptainer. Apptainer version 1 also has experimental support for DMTCP checkpointing. This presentation will cover using Singularity and Apptainer to build container images from Docker, to install tools such as Conda in the container, to run MPI programs inside the container, and some discussion on DMTCP checkpointing.
