A spin-off of the iPython Notebook, Jupyter Notebook is an emerging tool used for data science and exploration. A notebook is a human-readable worksheet document that contains the executable code, analysis, documentation and results. This facilitates sharing knowledge, know-how, and their results and allows everyone to see how such was obtained and/or to re-compute those results. As cloud services increasingly come online in SHARCNET and Compute Canada, Jupyter will increasingly be a valuable tool in the researcher’s toolbox. This presentation will be an introduction to Jupyter, Jupyter Notebooks, and will demonstrate how such can be used with data and to share analyses with others.
